Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Interesting; had never run into that. Not sure if those programs ever existed around me.

One of the most lovely things about living here is that we eat papayas and mangoes almost every day almost year round. Local mangoes are just coming in season right now. The season is extremely short. Locally. I don't know where those yellow ones come from, but they are around almost year round. Papayas are available year round. And pineapples. I just finished a three fruit salad. Yum

I had my last two pineapples straight. Think I might spice this one up with some strawberries and blueberries. Gotta check to see if it's ready to peel and eat yet, though.

Too well-trodden, don't need snowshoes. Good for fat biking though.

I occasionally jump on the towpath to shortcut road routes or head to the bike shop (a canal spur ends at the backdoor of the shop).

Is the ice thick enough for skating in the winter?

Probably, but I've never seen anyone do it. I have seen people riding fat bikes on Cazenovia Lake.
