trying to figure out the year of my triumph bicycle


stamped under the seat is fd 12270 any info on this bicycle would be greatly appreciated. i cant find any info anywhere

The only example I've seen this extended chain guard is on a 57 Raleigh. So that's my best guess.

Well, I think Triumph was always a Raleigh subsidiary and never an independant and I seem to remember them begining to use this name in about 1960. I'd never seen a 28" camelback Truimph (or Raleigh) till last week when this guy posted his over at www.thecabe.com;

I wonder if yours was made in Canada. Do you have the Resilion rear hub or a Sturmey Archer? Exactly what size are those tires? 28 1/2 English (635mm) or 28 1/2 Canadian (622mm, compatable with modern 700s)?

I had a 28" Raleigh camelback rebranded as a Supercycle. One of my fave rides and I'm sorry I let it go.



This was one early 60's.

i found this on another bicycle forum statin it a 1930 era camelback triumph with 28 inch rims now to find parts is gonna be fun while takign paint off the chain gaurd i unccoverd this decal
