Fenders for A Carbon Fiber Bike
The LBS is advising me that I should use fenders on a Carbon Fiber Bike (Which I use to commuter, someday.) they say it would protect the frame from all the Chip and Tar roads we have around here. I know fenders protect you and the bike during a rain but Chip and Tar roads are a new one for me. Any feed back?

Honestly the only good option would be to match it up with carbon fibre fenders of course.
Alternatively there are various aluminum (light), stainless steel (less light but stronger) and plastic (Cheap and reasonably light) options around.
No feedback on the chipseal, it's ancient tech around where I live and only backcountry roads that haven't been taken care off in decades still have them but apparently they advise car drivers not to exceed 35MPH to prevent stones from being kicked up. There might be some truth to it.

I don't what kind of bike you have but Topeak has a huge line of fenders that will work on any bike and any need; some of the fenders have something called IGlow built into the fender, not super bright but it does glow which should help somewhat with extra visibility. Topeak fenders are very reasonably priced as well.

That is silly.* But you can do what the mountain bikers do and get frame protection tape. I just bought a roll of "racer's tape" Not cheap, but then again neither was the bike. I generally only use it on places where I am concerned about abrasion though. In my case, that is my heel against the chainstay (a new "feature" of disk brakes I guess).
I do use a seat post mount fender for my butt - but that doesn't protect the bike. We could help you better with a picture of your bike, but not knowing that - SKS race blades are great - SKS makes a whole variety of fenders
*I'll say that people who ride Gravel King Short Knob tires make a butt load of noise going down a dirt path or rail-trail. Never seen a tire throw pebbles like that one.
