Absolutely bertinjim. I put the Classics on my vintage bike because they look the part and was pleasantly surprised with their ride and grip. I have ridden them in two Eroicas (Britannia and California) plus a few similar vintage events which included some gravel sections and never had any trouble. Will definitely keep using them.

Gitane TDF - US and European specs
I think that TDFs produced for the North American market had Reynolds 531 for all tubes, but here in Europe only the three main tubes were 531.

Not good posting pics (and just joined so don't have the posts) but I have a Jeunet Franche Comte 10 speed I bought new when I was in high school in 1974 or 1975 at the LBS. I think it was about $70 or $80. I had bought it with summer job money. I had it tuned p a few years back, and got it out again this summer.

Pair of nice Peugeots there. I've always like the diagonal stripes graphics. It looks nice on dark gray.

@juliywann Thanks! I was fortunate to already have French cups and a triple Stronglight spindle in my parts bin. I believe I purchased the French cups from Boulder Bicycle. They have a rotating inventory of oddball vintage parts. The cups were a “just in case” buy, and then the need presented itself.
