I did that in a volleyball game once (on purpose) - cleared the net and landed on the opposing court. It was just gym class so no biggie, but the gym coach said it was not legal.

He was WRONG, but I didn't argue. You can use any body part so long as it's a legal hit (not a "carry" or double bump)
