“I tell people I’d rather be pushing pedals on a bicycle than pushing up daisies.”
What a legend! 😆

Very nice.
I wouldn't doubt that during his first year, those same neighbours were in their cars cursing him to get out of the way.

I just turned 83 seven days ago. I have been retired since 2008, and this year I passed 25000 miles mostly on the 135 miles of bike paths in our city. Some of it was out on the hiways with the local bike club. I still ride approx 25 miles every other day in the summer weather permitting. It is great to be blessed with good health as I am. I lay a lot of my good health to cycling.

I turned 70 earlier this month.
Maybe I’ll try to ride around the world.
I’ll first have to decide what latitude.

Congrats to the guy, that is a feat but just riding in the neighborhood has got to lose some pizazz after maybe going halfway around the world. Still though really awesome and hopefully an inspirational piece for people of all ages and abilities to just get out there and do something active as you can.

I very much enjoy reading articles regarding older people still being active. I am 69 and have said for years, if I get into the 80's, I would like to still be riding regularly, preferably outdoors. I did not even realize until reading this article, that since October of 2017, I have ridden the earth's circumference in miles with a bit over 25,000. I still find the French gentleman, Robert Marchand, that did14 miles in one hour, at the age of 105, one of the most impressive. He recently passed at 109.
