That is a cracked chainstay. After 5 months post-wreck, my luck ran out. Started making a creaking noise last Friday and I thought it was the bottom bracket. Nope.
Going to try the Cannondale crash replacement program through my retailer.
That's all I've got to say about that.

If it makes you (and bampilot06) feel any better, towards the end of my ride, yesterday, I was hearing some brake rub on the front when turning. At a stop, I gave the front end a little wiggle and saw that the through axle was a little loose, allowing the wheel to slide side-to-side a mm or two. I guess that the folks at Robert Axle Project were serious when they recommended that users check their TAs for proper torque before each ride.
well somehow this makes me feel better.

12nm, iirc. It would have had to have unthreaded quite a bit more to be in serious danger, and it would be difficult not to notice. I don't think that I've taken the wheel off since putting the bike together, so it's been over 1k miles - I'll check it a little more frequently.

It's the day before a long weekend, lots of people are out on vacation, and my bike's in my truck so I can go ride one of my favorite roads after I get off work.
I've got a feeling it's going to be a long one.

Yet, I can't find much motivation to ride, unfortunately. I might get in an hour today. I honestly think the motivation to ride is the #1 most important thing to have, because once you have that, you'll find a way to overcome all the various excuses, and find the time to get out there and ride.

Alarm cat got into our room at 4:30AM. We usually close the door tight so she can't do that, but that hard lemonade must have gone to my wife's head, as she did not close door tight enough to click it, and of course Jackie came in and wanted some love from me. It was a bit early but I can't be angry with such a lovely creature.

Hey WhyFi - heard you were bored. Want to come over and hook my new fridge up to the water line?
