Bicycle helmet strap extenders?

Bicycle helmet strap extenders?
All. Is there something like bike helmet strap extenders? I have a long head and I am having a hard time finding a helmet with straps long enough. My current helmet barely works with the strap all maxed out. But with the cold weather I like to wear my hoodie under the helmet which makes it impossible to close the strap. Does anyone know if there is something like a strap extender?
Otherwise I might need to make one myself out of an old helmet.

Also slide clasps may not hold well on other webbing types - found that recycling some in a backpack, ended up having to tie off the adjustments.

You might check some local thrift shops for helmets with compatible clasps, and use those for the extender.

The easiest way, at least for me, to make a strap extender is:
P.S. If you are going to cannibalize an old helmet for parts, the process is the same.
- Measure your strap, it s usually 5/8" or 1/2" wide.
- Buy a sidelock buckle @ Rainshed
- Buy some nylon webbing @ Rainshed
- If the buckle fits the buckle that is on your helmet now it is easy.
- Remove the male side buckle, and replace it with the male side of the new buckle.
- Thread a piece of webbing through the female side of the new buckle, fold the webbing back on itself making 2 layers of webbing.
- Thread the old male buckle onto the piece of the open ends of the webbing that was just folded over. This will form a loop with the male side of the old buckle on one end and the female side of the new buckle on the other end.
- Determine how much extension you need, and trim to fit.
P.S. If you are going to cannibalize an old helmet for parts, the process is the same.

I actually found an older kids helmet in my garage. I thought I had thrown this one out years ago when became too small for my daughter. Good thing I did not. Same buckles. So I cut off the strap and made my own extender. It was easier than I thought.
