Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Beer sucks. That is all. Glad I could clear that up for everyone.

I am not a big beer drinker, but I do like a crisp pilsner. My local has nothing but fruity crap, cider and IPAs on tap. Most of them are IPAs.
It takes some looking in the stores, but pilsners are still easier to find than a good stout or porter.

I don't drink beer. I limit my drinking to high quality (meaning most anything sold in stores) rum, bourbon, rye, vodka, and wine.

I pretty much drink only wine at home. I sometimes want beer when I am out and it's warm/hot. The head bar tender at my local has suggested a wider selection to the owner based on what some people ask for, but he sticks with the IPA-dominated menu, although he does have Guinness on draft.

Who can argue with this?

Ah. You see, I don't go out to drink - low social needs introvert.

The right IPAs are delicious, but there is an abundance of crap IPAs out there - everyone makes them, but doing them well is a different matter. The fruity stuff can be really good if done right too. The place near me had a pineapple sage gose that was amazing and a blackberry berliner that was awesome as well - neither were super fruity, but the entire flavor profile comes from the fruit / botanicals instead of hops. They also make a killer pilsner and amazing saisons.

I'm an after work, late afternoon on weekends person, and only at my local. Core group of regulars who have know each other for may years. Big NFL crowd during the season. I am almost never in there late night. That's when the craziness happens. The place serves as a last stop for many people coming from center city back into the neighborhood after being out elsewhere. The pandemic was actually a boom. Several places in the area that could not do the outdoor thing well shut down. Many weekends the place was ringing in twice what it normally did pre-pandemic, even during the winter. It has clamed down some now that other places have re-opened.

When we moved to this facility, I got the corner office, which may sound like a perq, but I assure you it's not. It faces South and West, and from the Fall Equinox to the Spring Equinox, the sun shines in the windows so much that the office will easily reach the 80s. They've tried numerous fixes, but none have really worked - too much airflow when it's not hot, but not enough when it is. The natural assumption most people make is that hotter outside = hotter inside, but that's not how it works.

Next month, I'll be able to move to another office, being vacated by someone retiring. Her office is much more temperate.

I come into the office every day wearing shorts, temperature dependent, of course. If I am the only one here, which is the case most days, I don't change. Only if my department head is here do I change. Keep a pair of khakis and a couple of polo shorts in my office.

Pretty much the same here - very casual unless I'm meeting with someone or have a court day. Most days, I'm the only one here. Even when meeting with people, it's much the same as you. Most all of my clients prefer the more casual atmosphere since they are in the oil and gas, construction and other industries that do not involve ties.

I own two bikes with proprietary seat posts. I don’t worry much about the Giant because small parts seem to be readily available. My Colnago, on the other hand, not so much. I bought spare axles because they are unique to my frame and I can foresee the time when I may ruin a socket head and have to find one in a hurry. Same with the seat post wedge parts. I see owners online trying to find the little parts without much luck.
