cyclemeter drops devices

I've been using Cyclemeter with good results, except for one thing. It stops recording heart rate and power setting 20 minutes or so into the ride. Any thoughts, anyone?

Bluetooth connection to a smartphone app? Might be just the way BT behaves on your phone with certain BT pairings.

Have you ever just continued to ride and see if they reconnect on their own later down the road?

Sometimes restarting the phone will clear up Bluetooth connectivity problems. I've had to do that with my iPhone and Android phones.

Some apps and processes can interfere too. Usually we can't share Bluetooth devices with multiple apps on the same phone, but occasionally we can. I discovered accidentally that I can run Wahoo Fitness and Map My Run simultaneously and my Tickr will work with both apps. Usually when I try that with Wahoo Fitness and any other app, it won't work at all. I mostly use Wahoo Fitness for everything, then sync to Strava later. But Map My Run works with my Under Armour running shoes which have a Bluetooth sensor to record my cadence, speed, stride length, etc.

There may also be some radio frequency interference. There are a couple of places along my favorite route where my heart rate monitor and GPS fail for about 1/2 a mile, near an electrical substation. Ditto my home wifi router. I have to keep it in another room or it'll interfere with my Wahoo Tickr and one of my Bluetooth speakers. And an old Dell flat screen monitor that I mostly use as a TV also seems to interfere if I'm too close to it while using my heart rate monitor.

I've been using Cyclemeter for quite a long time, and have only had that happen once, after a break for lunch mid-ride (which might have had something to do with it). Might want to write to Abvio and let them know. They're responsive.

Android or iphone? I've heard a lot of Android phones have bluetooth problems that only show up in some cases.

In my experience with Cyclemeter, sometimes my HRM started dropping out when its battery was getting low.
