Lucky. My first ride was ruined because my friend took me on a 60mile ride with 2000ft of climbing. But we got lost and went up the wrong hill twice so the final climbing was 5500 ft. It was fun....until the climbing.

I still get that feeling at the start of spring riding after riding 3 or 4 months in freezing cold.

I'm actually planning a Redwood ride this Friday if anyone is at all interested in attending. ~35miles if we do Pinehurst.
