Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Cervelo seatpost (2012)

I can't post in the Buy-Sell-Trade yet?

Anyways, I contacted Cervelo and they no longer produce my seatpost for a 2012 S2. Being ten years old, I am not that surprised.

I have had a small crack in it for years now, and it just always creaks when I ride. Annoying. The only data I can pull from is a sticker on the inside: P-03-300. That's the only information I have for what "it is".

ANYONE have an extra or replacement for me?

Checking on EBay I couldn't find one that old, but i did find back to 2014---apparently made by Hylix for Cervelo.

I might contact Cervelo and ask them if other years' posts will fit .... and I only did the most cursory EBay search (because what do I care? ) you might also be able to fix the post with some epoxy .

Also ... https://www.cervelo.com/en/sp-cer-sp...-aero-seatpost "This aerodynamically-shaped lightweight post delivers peerless aero efficiency and fits all Classic S- Series frames, and older P-Series frames ("04- prior??). Seat post head options are available for carbon rail saddles. Effective seat tube angles of 75-79 degrees with infinite angle adjustment allow for a wide range of fit and set up options.
"400mm long - can be cut to accommodate lower saddle heights.
"Minimum insertion 65mm"

Again I'd call and ask if it fit older models .....

https://www.cervelo.com/en/sp-sp17-2...-aero-seatpost
"LARGE AERO SEATPOST
SP-SP17-25MM
The S series post is available in zero and a 25mm offset to offer a wide range of fit options. This aerodynamically-shaped lightweight post delivers peerless aero efficiency, fits all S Series frames and accommodates carbon rail saddles.
"370mm long - can be cut to accommodate lower saddle heights. Minimum insertion 65mm. Carbon rail saddle compatible (25mm offset)"

I appreciate the "efforts" lol, but I am waiting on a response from them to see that exact question

Thanks for the links yeah. I have seen those. Waiting on a reply. I put that information in an e-mail already as it's not urgent.

The first response I received was "Thank you for reaching out to Cervélo. We have discontinued the seat post you are after unfortunately. We do not have any other recommendations at this time other than to try to source one second hand online."

So, we will see what they say. There has to be a reason they aren't cross compatible.

I did find the "Hylix" one but came across some dimensions and it was certainly not the size of my seat post!

Try one of the CF frame repair places. CF is easy to repair if you know how.
