Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

thanks for the heads up a while back about the grey haired, bespectacled British chap who is a coffee expert. I find him interesting and the 2 best things I've learned is measure precisely and nearly boil water and add it into the auto drip maker for better taste. I'm not into it enough to get an espresso machine and buy a dura ace grinder but getting the most out of what I have is a plus.

Coffee doesn't need to go on a to-do list. Nobody forgets to drink coffee.

After last night’s insanity I decided to bag the DE portion and head for home in between rain events. Got maybe 3hrs. sleep last night. The rain was that loud. Would have had to pack up in a deluge in Oder to insure that I made my ferry. DE weather looks crappy today and tomorrow. No real point in going there.

The rain yesterday totaled somewhere around an inch here. I hear it was over 5 inches in Sacramento. Anyway today is clear and supposed to top out in the 60s. I'm not sure where the ride is going but I'm looking forward to it.

I was worried about you last night. Glad you made an adjustment.

He has a certain amiability about him. Even if I'll never buy something like a $3,000 grinder, it's still fun and interesting to watch him go over it. But yeah, his more practical videos are good, too. After frothing milk for a dozen years, I still improved after watching his video on the process.

Sounds like you got more than we did. It was wet all day, but never rained very hard. My daughter and I were in the Eureka area over the weekend. I'm glad we got out of there on Sunday.

Last grass cut of the year I hope. Battery 1 went 30 minutes and battery 2 was going strong after 23 minutes when I got done. I went into beast mode the last 5 minutes to make sure I could complete it. Sunny but cool today high of 63 I think. I wore too much and was sweating like a feather trucker* at the end. A beautiful fall day..

This is the only way you'd be sweating today.

Was supposed to take a ferry to Lewes, DE this morning for two nights. 30+ mph winds forecast for there tomorrow. More rain later today. No point in going. Not good beach weather.
