What's a 2015 Colnago ACE worth (in CA)?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

What's a 2015 Colnago ACE worth (in CA)?

I'm checking for a friend whose body is aging out of road cycling. This is the bay area market, which I've noticed with vintage stuff, is higher than much of the country. I have not seen the bike but it looks very clean from these pix. Thx in advance for your estimates.

$800. That's kind of shockingly low, but then again when I had a serious hip injury I was pretty damned disappointed in the "used" value of my late model Ultegra/Dura-Ace equipped carbon Giant. Fortunately I hung on to it, and many years later I'm riding it again.

I wonder if they've taken pandemic prices into account. I doubt it. I'm selling everything much easier and for higher prices these days.

Bicycle Blue Book wants you to trade in or sell your bike to one of their "partners" who would like to pay as little as possible for it.

BBB always comes back way low, IMO.
don't know much about Colnago CF, but given the componentry as 'stock', the frame might also be 'mid-peleton' stuff, in the CF field...
not saying it's not a v-nice bike...
Shimano R-500 wheelset was one of their entry-level wheels - actually rides way higher than same class in other wheel groups - I like them, myself.
Shimano 105 gear train, also v-good from that era.
Depending on overall condition, I'd be saying $1k to $1.3K would be a good sale for both the seller and buyer...
Seller will think it's worth a lot. because it's a great bike - and it prolly is. BUT it's hardly cutting edge new - those are the buyers that will pay ridiculous high prices for their new machines.
rest of us are cheap skinflints !!! (showing my age... LOL!)

105 components on a Colnago indicate their entry level frame. But SF Bay should pull $1,000 in this market.

A lot depends on the frame size. Far more people want a medium size and what I have seen sitting on Craigslist for weeks are the extra small, small, and very large frame size bikes.

I am in the process of shipping a 1975 custom frame bike with all Campy Record parts and wheelset with sewup rims to the person who built the frame. He is one of few people who can appreciate the bike. It was too special a bike to me to sell it to a stranger on Craiglist. At the time I had the frame built to my specifications all the road bikes had criterium frame geometry and were ill suited to long distance rides or touring.

If I were your friend, I'd advertise out of state. The value of used bicycles sold in CA is much less, because they contain so many cancer causing materials.
