Mountain Goat Bike WHISKEYTOWN - $1 (OREGON)

MOUNTAIN GOAT BICYCLE RARE! RARE! Bicycle, formerly owned and specifically built for the late great Kevin Duckworth, Portland Trailblazer...I bought this with numerous other items at sale to benifeit his mother, this is the true story and in no way do I consider the bike worth more based on its previous ownership, juist wanted to share its history. It is just as it was ordered and is an original Jeff Lindsey. Bike is prestine for its age, original tires still has there nubs, a few scratches from storage, In the case of this frame... size does matter. If you are less than 6' this will be two tall for you, and if you are taller you will absolutely love this bike. Kevin was around 7' and weighed in the 400# range and he rode this bike only a hand full of times. These bikes are very hard to find, just try. In 1982 the Mountain Goat sold for $1350.00, WOW!!!!

Please call with questions for I did my best to list all the needed info, but may have missed something of interest to you. Call: 503-935-6266

The following specifications are......
All the components are Shimano via Japan
Serial#: 2592W206
Frame: Mountain goat
Style: WHISKEY TOWN RACER
Fork: Mtn. Goat
Handle bars: Specialized
Stem: Mtn Goat
Speeds: Shimano XT Rapid Fire w/ thumb option SR Shimano 24 gears
Brakes/Shifting levers:Shimano SWT M900
Grips: Oury Grabs
Rings:Shimano BC 1.37 73
Cranks:Shimano XTR FC-M900
Rims: Specialized X23 heat treated 26x1.50
Tires:Crossroads II 26x1.95
Creator Jeff Lindsey, made in the USA, Chico, Calif.,
paint by Mtn. Goat, Prestige, double butted tube, tange, CR-MO, Hand Tig welded, Metallic blue
For frame dimensions see pics. and please feel free to call and ask questions
Who says a tall bike needs to be made out of two bikes...

side note: I actually grew up across the street from the Duckworths (grandparents)...tho I never met Kevin, my brothers did play basket ball with him when they were growing up.

So my girlfriend is looking to get a bike off Craigslist, and we came across this. Not the best, but it's something cheap to start out on? Will eventually put a fixed cog on it. How much would you pay for it?

I purchased and tried it on over a dozen rides. Does not work for me. This saddle retails for $399.00. This saddle is not yet broken in, but I , apparently am lacking the proper bone structure.

Leader 735TT 53cm Fixie - $600 (SE HOLGATE)

For sale is a Leader 735TT 53cm fixed gear bike. The Leader 735TT includes an Aerus Carbon Fiber Fork, Drop Handlebars, Cane Creek Headset, Thomson Stem, Eighthinch Julian Wheelsets, Sugino Messenger Crankset, and an Origin 8 Seat. This bike is fixed/fixed; its currently on a 16 cog but you can flip it over to the 18 cog. The sugino messenger crankset is a 46T chainring. I am adding CINELLI PURSUIT HANDLEBARS (26.0 clamp diameter) and a black KONA seat along with this bike. This bike rides very nice and smoothly. It has only been ridden only for about a month or so from me. This bike is well worth over $600, the frame ALONE is worth about +$400 but need the cash now so have to give it up
Maybe if the frame was a new 735 it'd be worth over $400

2009 Van Dessel Drag Strip Courage Track Frameset - $450 (NE Fremont and MLK)

Priced for frame, fork, headset, and seat mast only. Please use the below image for the frameset only, sale will not include Zipp wheels, SRAM Truvativ Omnium cranks, or Easton TKO bars.

Depending on what else you need, I could also include a bottom bracket, Thomson stem, seat, tubular wheels with tires glued, 1/8" track chain, and a Dura Ace 15t cog for a bit more money. That way you'd only need cranks and a chainring.

Frame size: 57.5 (see below for specs), I'm 5'-11 3/4" and it fits me great.
Oversized aluminum tubing built for stiffness and track specific carbon fiber fork. Not drilled for brakes.
This has been my velodrome race machine for the last year. It has helped me win every matched sprint race that I've participated in this year.. I've taken really good care of it. It's an amazing bicycle but I just got a new track machine and don't need 2.
Is this the ugly duckling, or the beautiful swan? I just can't tell...

Astronaut wanted in Phoenix:

Date: 2011-08-17, 9:51PM MST
Reply to: gigs-yyada-2552798277@craigslist.org [Errors when replying to ads?]

Astronaut needed for experimental flight to Titan. I have been working on this project now for near 40 years and am afraid I'm no longer fit enough to go.
My secret space craft is the result of my professional experience and imagination while serving the U.S. military in advanced aeronautics as a scientist.
The craft harnesses a revolutionary propulsion system and its fuselage is fabricated with the most advanced material. While considerably safe,
I am certain you will make it safely to Titan but there will not be enough fuel to get home. This is for someone unique that has always wanted to see the universe
first-hand and has perhaps a terminal view on life here at home. Here's your shot at romantic history.
Must be:
-physically fit.
-mentally sound.
-over the age of 18.
-a dreamer.
-a believer.
-not afraid of heights.
-not afraid of extreme conditions such as speed, pressure, heat, etc.
-brave.
-no taller than 5'10 and relatively slim.
-good eye-sight & hearing.
-manual dexterity (although the craft is largely cpu controlled).
-OK in cramped conditions for long periods of time.

Had? and I was thinking about buying it. I heard track riders get smaller frames for the increased rigidity and shorter wheelbase..does that also apply for road bikes?

55cm Mercier Kilo TT Fixie/Free - $400 (NoPo)

Selling my trusty Purple Mercier. I've finally conceded that it is too small for me, and have since gotten a bike that is my size. I'll spare you from having to hear how special this bike is to me blah blah blah and just give you the specs:

Reynolds 520 Chromoly frame. There are some cosmetic scuffs from having locked it up all over town, but no rust, dings, or anything else that's suspect. Never been crashed, in an accident (knock on wood!), etc.

The crank is stock (48 teeth), as are the headset and seat post.

The wheels are lime green Velocity Deep V's on gold Formula hubs. The fixed cog is a 12-tooth Surly, and the free cog came with the wheels and has 16 teeth. Also, I have a 14-tooth Shimano Dura Ace free cog that you can have as well, if you like that ratiio better. The tires are Czar Cst, and about four months old. Haven't had a flat yet.

Black Forte pedals with Origin 8 toeclips and red leather straps.

White Origin 8 Saddle wth no wear. The stem is a black Dimension: The bars I got out of a bin at Bike Works on Mississippi. They're great, but nothing too flashy. I just liked the shape. I threw on a new Tektro brake with some worn pads, but I really don't use it.....more to keep the fuzz off my back.

If I haven't covered all of the bases, give me a call or shoot me an email. I'll get back to you as soon as I can. 5038889273. If you like the silly green sparkly helmet I wear, I'll throw that in the mix as well. And the Planet Bike removable black fenders.
Hey, it's for sale now!

On my local Craigslist, I mean.

And I think that a smaller size applies if you intend on racing with the bike. I know pro road riders are known for having smaller frames with longer stems, but comfort wise it would be best to go your size.

So, some guy posted an ad for an Araya wheelset, and a 700c aerospoke that he only wants $50 for. However, he says that they're all "tubeless glue-on rims". I can't find any info about a tubeless aerospoke online. Do these actually exist? I don't own a car, so I'd like to know whats up with the wheels before I ride 25 miles to see them.
