Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Weight isn't as much of a big deal to us. Most of us would rather sacrifice weight for looks, stiffness, or both.

Older picture, but the setup is about the same. ~15.5lbs, I could probably lose another lb or two by swapping saddle, pedals, and bars for something more svelte.

I'll see if I can find a better picture.

I was pretty depressed when I found out my bike still weighs 21 lbs. I guess when I get a lighter frame i can weigh in the teens.

Fun fact: Because it doesn't have balloon tires, my Columbia is classified as a "lightweight."

It weighs 45 lbs.

Yes, they are tubulars. With my clincher wheelset it weighs right around 14lbs.
