I don't know if this was bad luck on my part or bad bearings. Others in my area haven't had this problem, and I ride in the rain more often than most so that may have some bearing (sorry!) on this. I've got a couple thousand miles on one of their PF->Shimano BBs and no problems so far. The jury's still out IMO. Third time's the charm.

Anyone use the Wahoo Bolt yet? The few people that ive seen with it say they love it. Im really considering upgrading from my edge 500...that and my team lbs just got some in and I get team pricing on it..so its tempting

friend of mine cracked his carbon rim at a spoke hole that he suspects came from a pot hole. But I think those are somewhat common. I recall doge citing that they go through wheels like crazy during the classics in europe. when you took it off, did the clamp sink into the handlebar? do you have pictures?

was talking about finding a new bike to replace my foil as my primary race bike. stumbled into a good deal on a 2015 argon 18 nitrogen with full enve stem/aero bars setup, etap, quarq dzero red, and enve 7.8 clinchers.

I really like my Argon Gallium Pro. One thing to take note of is that the BB on Argons is kind of low - about 6mm lower than most other bikes. It makes for a very stable ride, but it also increases the risk of striking a pedal during a turn. The issue is magnified if you run longer crank arms.

Well ... that makes sense. Had an Argon TT bike for a while and it was solid. Some of the parts were proprietary, but Argon was just up the road near Reno. Stopped by one day and they took care of it all on the spot.

So the wife is throwing around the idea of buying (or helping me buy) a new bike for my bday in a few months. Problem is - I have no idea what to get! I've been avoiding looking at bikes in general, since I figure my caad 10 is plenty for racing, but something nicer for training and longer rides would be a welcome addition to the stable. Namely something carbon!
Honestly, I'm kind of leaning towards just building up a hi-mod supersix frameset or something, since I'm already used to the geometry and handling characteristics, but wondering if y'all could suggest anything else I should take out for a test ride. I haven't really ridden too many other road bikes, to be honest! I've rented a Roubaix once, and it felt really really nice, but I suppose that's not a proper race bike. I've also rented a base level SuperSix Evo (non-hi mod) once, but it had tire liners and very heavy wheels and basic components, and it felt pretty crappy out on the road. I tried a Franco once at a demo day but felt like my Caad 10 was stiffer during accelerations. Any suggestions are most appreciated!

In all seriousness though, I'm not really sure.
I do want something more compliant, but I think anything in carbon will check the box there. I don't really have trouble with comfort on long rides with the CAAD as it is, I just like how smooth carbon feels. I'd think it would be better to keep the nicer bike for training and race on the more expendable one. So if I'm going to be mostly training on it, then I don't think aero or super light weight should really be a priority. I think really it would just need to be something that's enjoyable to ride and has a good, spritely feel to it, but that's so subjective. Maybe I just need to hop on a bunch of bikes and see what feels best.
