Edit, on 2nd look I'm not sure this is even a Guerc: it has something illegible on the fork crown and the stay caps have that Columbus Dove that was the mark used by (experts, please correct me) Vetta? Could be an OK frame but has layers of misleading advertising.
I agree! The rear drop out is not like anything Guerc, and the fork has the same fender eyelets. Ciooc used vertical drop outs for the race bikes. Hardly worth $300 with a close look it needs to be cleaned and repainted with the correct decal set. Cost of about $300 just to get it corrected. Smiles, MH

No expert by any means but if this didn't say Carlton, it would be very close to a Super Tourer, Carlton equivalent?

Raleigh Super Tourer is full 531, including forks and stays, with sloping fork crown. More like a Raleigh Pro with touring geometry. This Carlton's sticker indicates plain gauge frame tubes only, I think, more Super Course-ish.

Or with the Huret drivetrain like a Super Tourer and likely being earlier = lesser frame spec, Tourer Course-ish.

Being likely earlier it also probably has Huret dropouts, also like my/an Super Tourer.

That's a quick drive for me and very tempting. Alas, my N+1 needs to account for a future gravel and MTB as well, so I should begrudgingly pass. Pretty though.

This is an interesting bike. My understanding is, Dynamax was a rebadged Motobecane. Listed at $125 but I'm sure you could get it cheaper. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace...62861344068762

He kept the original parts..........which were full Campy except for first gen Dura Ace brakes.
I worked in a LBS that sold Atala bikes in the 1970s. Chrome lugs and fork ends would make that one of the better models in the line up. Surely came with Universal brand center pull brakes. Many manufacturers would use the same brakes on nearly every model in the product line so they looked cheap on the more expensive bikes. It was plenty common to upgrade brakes on the better bikes. Each maker chose their own brakes but seem to give preference to brands from their home country. French makers usually had Mafac, Italian makers used Universal, etc.

There was a lot of discussion about what style of brake caliper was best, side pull vs center pull (and later on, cantilever). The reality is each type can be made poorly and many were and still are, especially on modern bsos.

pretty nice chrome Diamondback ladies' frame with all the 1990-ish trimmings (Tange fork with mid blade mounts, chain hanger). Chrome looks good but aluminum looks shot. I'm sure this is clapped out and siezed up but it's just appealing to me
