Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Back in the day it seemed I tried to bring every single tick back home out of the woods of NC and VA. Luckily I haven't seen one since I moved out west in the early 80s.

Honestly most people's workouts are boring. I just like to stalk the details of race performance. Or I did, back when there were races.

Back home the cats would come in covered in them. One particular big boy would come in with a bunch around his eyes and ask Dad to get them off with a tweezer; we think he pulled the others off with his teeth.

I'm about one lockdown haircut away from just saying eff it and buzzing everything down to 2mm. The thought of people looking at me and thinking I'm a skinhead is the one hesitation.

As long as you don't wear Ben Sherman or Fred Perry, rolled up Levi's and Doc Martins you probably be alright.

Got room to stab it with a screwdriver? Only danger is if it's really on there the screwdriver will just destroy the filter and you'll never get it off.

Guy in my church is kind of interesting. He's a cycling tour guide at a resort (or was, I imagine they've been closed), near the foothills. In addition to doing a lot of road riding he also goes in the yucky dirt/gravel and posts pictures. Yesterday he posted pictures from a kayaking activity.

A friend of mine went full skinhead, after an S.O. home haircut attempt.
