01/12 - 25,6 km
03/12 - 20,5 km
04/12 - 25,6 km

05/12 - 12,2 km
06/12 - 35,1 km
07/12 - 31,8 km
12/12 - 23,8 km
13/12 - 22,6 km

199,2 km to date? Some quick mental math and I might forgotten to carry the one or something. I have a winter beater enroute this week, that’ll be a nice change from riding inside.

I forgot how slow things get around here in the winter. This might be my last ride before Christmas. Lots going on this week, and then a bad storm Thursday and Friday. At least it looks like rain for us here on the coast.

I've been trying to add a mile a day, but a busy gig weekend precluded any riding Saturday or Sunday, so I added 3 today to make up for it. Given the way I felt when I got back, I'm not sure it was the best decision, but at least I survived it.

Missed a day yesterday so added an extra mile, almost two. It felt much better today but still not great. Not sure how many more rides I'll get in this month but I'll keep pushing the goal up as I hit the previous one.

Unexpectedly got an extra ride in before Christmas. Heavy rain and wind in the forecast, but went out at 5:30PM, thinking I could beat it. Not quite, steady rain by the halfway mark.

After the rain temps are going to plunge with strong winds. Not Midwest cold, but too cold to ride. I think I'll be able to get back out next week.

Happy Holidays!

MERRY CHRISTMAS and HAPPY NEW YEAR to all my fellow Clydesdales and Athenas! I appreciate you, I have really enjoyed this subforum over the past five years.

Didn't make my December goal, but looking forward to the next ride, January and 2023.

Welcome back Matt!

Almost lost my head tonight. Recent weather took down a small tree that fell across the MUP but was suspended a few feet off the ground. High enough to duck under, low enough to hit me in the face if I didn't see it. Which I almost didn't since my headlight was on low power after I forgot to charge it after the last ride, plus the light was pointed down. Almost rode into it on the way out because I didn't know it was there, and then again on the way back because I forgot about it.

Mark

Called the town DPW this morning and left a message, requesting they clear that tree. When I rode through tonight it was gone. I really didn't expect them to be that efficient.

December Goal: 181 miles

12/5 - 8.5 miles (Fuji)
12/29 - 12.1 miles (Fuji)

Obviously not going to get anywhere close to my December goal, but at least I didn't get stuck with just 8 miles for the month.

December to date: 20.6 miles

2022 total to date: 1340.0 miles
2022 Goal: 1,500 miles ( was 2,500 miles once upon a time... )

Not going to make my yearly goal either.

All my miles are outdoor miles.

Hit my December goal! My last ride of the year, as tomorrow will be wet.

Almost collided with an owl tonight. We live on a very steep hill that ends in a field. I had just left the house and reached the bottom of the hill when it flew right in front of me. Briefly saw it in my headlight beam. Way too large for a screech owl, and not large enough for a Great Horned. Plus it was mostly white. Likely a barred owl. We have screech owls and last winter I heard a Great Horned in the woods behind our yard, but I didn't know we had barred owls in our suburban neighborhood.
