Match the rims / tires, shorten the cables, then not a bad looking bike.

It's ugly because someone speay painted it poorly and now the paint is flaking off. I got it for free from the scrap pile. The seatpost and stem are bith stuck, but the headset is still very smooth. Because of that, I fixed it up with rabdom parts I had laying around to minimize the cost put into it.

That's fairly early for a Shogun. The derailleurs are Shimano Altus LT which, if OEM, would place it 1979-1983. Shogun weren't marketed in the USA until the 1977 model year, which is late for wingnuts, so I suspect that they or the entire front wheel are replacements. I suspect the latter given the difference in condition between the two wheels. I'd appreciate the serial number for my databse. TIA.

The front wheel came off of an early 70s bike boom 10 speed. I put that wheel on it as it did not come with a front wheel.

No worries and good on ya for making it functional.

Just being a mixte endears it to many of us as we like em.

Even better, this is a true mixte with the twin tubes running full length if I'm seeing it right?

I think they are cool for the fact that they are not specifically womens bikes as many believe, they are unisex and originally many companies only made them for all, they were a utility bike for the butcher, baker, candlestick maker, etc.

Just plain cool IMO.

Here's a couple of Ms. merziac's that are not true mixte's but very cool none the less.

Brake cables need to be a little taller.
