Compressionless brake housing confusion

Do front disc brakes with short and straight for the most part (shallow bend at the flat bar lever) really need compressionless housing? Only few people say that rear disc brakes and tandems are the most appropriate candidates for compressionless cable housing.

No, but if you're using on the back I'd always use it on the front too otherwise both brakes won't feel the same

Both brakes will probably not feel the same regardless, due to the much longer cable run to the rear.

Do they NEED compressionless housing? No they don't need to have it to work.
IMHO and experience they will work better with compressionless
housing.
