picked up a 1986 Speciallisima Giro with Dura Ace Groupset

Always wanted a celeste Bianchi.
Just bought this. 59cm.

But it has a few chips. Should I touch up.
Also Its a different shade. Anyone know of a colour match place???

Intent is to ride it rarely. I have a Masi 2012 I use.

To restore or not

Or should I just polish and wax it up and leave it as is?
Some spots could use a touch up.

FYI, it's not a 1986 model. It's a 1987 model based on the rectangular Campione Del Mondo decal, which was applied to the 1987 models to take marketing advantage of Moreno Argentin's victory in the road race held September 06, 1986.

Sweet.
If it were mine (and it ain't.....), I'd very carefully sand out the bits of rust and seal the chipped spots with clear nail-polish. Let the scars show, but keep 'em from becoming cancer....

MORE than fair. $465 US/600 CAD..? The group is worth that and more. So you bought a Dura Ace groupset with extra parts and the frame was given free.

I have had decent success using bar-keeps friend and a toothbrush working on rust spots. Takes several times, but then I polish and touch-up or seal.

...those are nice. I have one that is similar, but might be a different year. I'm not real good on dating. $600 (even 600 American) is a pretty good price for that here in Northern California, id you don't need to replace much.

Nice score . You might try Krylon Jade for touch up , just spray some in a cup and paint it on . I would use some spot putty first . The Krylon Jade is flat so you have to clear coat it . Here is my bike I built a few years ago , color match ?

Beautiful!!!

I would strip everything off the frame, and polish the paint with Mequiar's ScratchX, then a coat of quality car wax. Then rebuild. When I've finished all that, not only does the bike look great, but also I feel like it's truly mine.

Nice one, I'm looking for that bike, in that size, in that colour. Good score at that price.
