Bertoni Nuovitalia value help

I have an opportunity to buy a Bertoni Nuovitalia from a friend of a friend. I have not been to see the bike yet, and only have these two pictures. From my research it appears it was the bottom of the line-up for Bertoni with Matrix tubing, and it also seems like at some point most/all of the components were changed from original. Seller states: "The frame is worth around 300 and the components about 300, I want 500 without pedals, obo. I was going to part it out on ebay. Campagnolo Crank and seatpost, pedals and hubs, suntour deraileur, molodo brakes. I have a new saddle in green to match that goes with it. Tires and tubes are not usable".

What do you all think? My two options if I decide to buy would be to either buy the complete bike ($500 seems high when it will need pedals, tires, and tubes). Or buy the frameset in which case I would modernize the bike (is $300 the 'right' price for this frame?).

As well as the tires the wheels look to be tubies in rough shape so no it's not worth $500 I would say around $300 for the whole bike and about half that for the frame on a local sale. Yes the seller could get a lot more parting it out on Ebay but it's a tone of work hassle the seller is using the high end ebay pricing to justify the high price.

I'm going to go along with the $300, up to ~$350 not seeing the whole bike. I see the Bertoni as a $125 for the frame alone with headset.

I sold a midnight blue of that model with black universal calipers, non panto, ofmega cranks and bb, with replaced wheelset with comparable. It sold for $375 after a long time of being advertised. I do believe the market is a little softer than it was when I sold about 4 years ago. Sold in the big city US$

It appears to be circa 1986-1987. The Nuovitalia was a mid-range model that, during this era, orignally sold for around $500 US. Condition, based on the limited photos, is only average. In my opinion, the asking price is too high. I'd need more photos for a more accurate assessmet but zukhan1 is likely is the ballpark.

I agree, without seeing more of the condition and other components $300 max.

Ok thanks everybody - going to pass on this one. I’d rather spend a little more for a better quality bike I think. WTB post just submitted to C&V Sales Forum.
