Nothing fancy but its definitely a cool local find. She’s seen better days but should clean up nicely!
According to the catalogue & reviews it appears to be all original besides the Bontrager tires & saddle.

The real example appears to have a better head angle- that road test bike was big and had a really steep head angle.

I think this is great, later than we like but cool as heck none the less IMO.
I like how they didn't panto right over the logo on the SP as so many other "high end" butchers did.
But find it funny they got most of the others a degree, mm or two off, stem and fork crown that I can see.

I sold those when they were new. They were great value for the money at the time and punched well above their weight. They came with the pantographed parts out of the box.

I'm wondering if the subject bicycle isn't slightly older? 1986 seems a bit late for the presence of Portacatena dropouts and I notice that the road test sample in that March 1986 issue of Bicycle Guide does not have Portacatena dropouts. When you consider the amount of time required to create a magazine and get it to the readers, it wouldn't surprise if the road test bicycle was a 1985 model.
The only way to have Portacatena in 1986, would be to have very poor stock rotation practices. That wouldn't surpise me either, given that were talking about an Italian mass production factory that had recently changed hands.

Oh yea, Torpado has a special place in my heart. I had a Superlight as my first real race bike while stationed in the Army in Columbia, South Carolina. I raced it and rode it all over the country until it was finally stolen in 2010 and my Dads retirement home. They are wonderfully quick handing crit racing bikes. Have fun with this one and put lots of miles on it.
