Hello guys. Anyone remove a freehub from a novatec before? I'm seeing two different methods; a 12mm hex key from the back or loosening a lock ring on the front. I have both. Which one do I take out to remove this? I don't have a 12mm allen key so that's why I'm asking. I dont want to have to order one then find out I didn't need it. Thanks.

The attached pic has the arrows pointing to the slots in the lock ring. ​​​​​​​

What model hub is this? On all of my higher end Novatec hubs, the freehub body just pulls off after the axle is removed.

I used a 14mm allen wrench to remove a Novatech freehub body. Had to put the wrench in a vice, lower the wheel onto it and turn the wheel. Was very tight.

The photo shows the lockring to disassemble the cassette body and not what you need to remove it from the hub. You'll need the hex key or whatever method is used to mount it to the hub.

Same for the models I have handled. It practically falls off after you take the axle out.

I hope you're not going to service the freehub and then keep riding on those beat-up spokes.

You noticed that eh? lol. Yea, the ****licker that sold me the bike didn't disclose the fact that they rode the chain into where the pie plate used to be and jacked some stuff up lol, but that's ok. I'll change a few of them out soon lol, don't you worry your pretty little head off.
