Changing handlebar stem

I purchased a handlebar stem and have been waiting for bike mechanic to be available to change it but wondering if its something I can do myself. its also an ebike but that's the easy part from what I can see. I tried to find a YouTube video to help me but the only folding bike videos I saw are Brompton or another model that looks nothing like my bike. I have never changed a handlebar stem before but have done lots of other things on my bike and others over the years. Will post photos soon. I am on my phone and it doesn't seem to let me take and upload photos while on this page. my bike is not available anywhere anymore under any name so will take photo

Originally branded and ezi-go purchased 8 years ago. distributor in Australia stopped distributing bicycles some years ago.

That's a threaded stem. Just open the hinge, find the center screw and loosen the quill. If you bought the right diameter, it should be an easy replacement.

Hopefully, it's sturdy and not a wobbly model.

oh thanks do you know of a YouTube video that would show what you mean as I can't visualise that. When it comes to the warbly comment that's the trouble I'm having now but the bike is almost 9 years old and it's been through a few accidents. from memory the wobbly thing happened after the first accident

sounds good. Even if you need to tighten the headset to address the wobble this should only take ten minutes.

Yes, I am in Virginia on the east coast of the US. We can work out a time, but anything between 9:00 am and 11:00 pm is fair game. You can email me at paul@origamibicycles.com for the phone number.
