eBay / CraigsList finds - "Are you looking for one of these!?" Part II
Full Member
I reached out to seller to see if they would be willing to take to LBS for pack/ship or if they are capable/wiling themselves. Waiting to hear back. Not sure how far it is but earlier in the year several BF members recommended Cupertino bike shop in San Jose and I called/ spoke with Greg there and feel confident they’re good people.
I'm DM'ing you, now that I think about it...

Rossin Italian Road Bike - $200 (AustinBaronchelli, De Vlaeminck, Ballerini and Argentin are some of the riders who rode frames built by Marco Rossin, one of the best Italian frame builders of the 1970s and 1980s.
He was one of the premiere frame builders for Colnago he left in 1974 to establish Rossin Cycles.
Exquisitely manufactured with a notable attention to details, 1970s and 1980s Rossin steel racing bikes are icons of the finest Italian bike manufacturing from the golden era of racing bicycles.
This bike has its original DURA-ACE derailleurs, and handlebars. I have literally been approached by cyclist bc of how cool this bike is. Instant street cred!
The breaks, tires, seat and petals are new and fully functional.

Super Tourer Alert!
https://seattle.craigslist.org/see/b...486724029.html
I have more bikes than places to park them, so I’m reluctantly letting a couple of them move on. This 1975-ish Raleigh Super Tourer is a real time capsule. It appears to be nearly all original. When I got it, the bike had a pretty short (80mm) stem and narrow (38cm) bars. I had a longer stem of the same make & model (GB), and some 40cm “Guidons Phillippe” handlebars that I installed to make it comfortably rideable. I still have the old bar & stem if you want it. I taped the bars with white Velox cloth tape—it probably came with vinyl tape originally. When I got it, the bars were wrapped in new-ish padded cork tape. The only vintage brochures that I can find online show this bike with upright bars. The only other one of these that I’ve seen in real life had the same drop bar setup that this one does. My guess is that you could order it either way. It has Huret Jubilee derailleurs and shifters (rare, light, and pretty awesome—not to mention very French). Weinmann center-pull brakes with Weinmann levers and the original Carlton white hoods. It still has what are probably the original brake pads—you may want to put on some new ones if you’re going to ride this regularly as the old ones are pretty hard. Front brake cable is original, but I replaced the rear one with new white cable & housing. Original Nervar 3-arm crank and original Lyotard pedals (Oh La La!). Straight, true, and free of dents Weinmann 27” alloy rims laced to Maillard 700 (super smooth!) hubs. The Continental Super Sport tires are not original, but do not look out of place. The Brooks B15 saddle is still in pretty good shape. Old school Pletscher rack was on it when I got it, and yes it has the “T” shaped piece that keeps the rack from sliding down and scratching the seat stays. Seat tube measures 21 1/2” center-top. Frame tubing decal is worn off (as they often are on bikes of this vintage), The brochure says this is 531 throughout, and what’s left of the decal seems to bear that out. That’s consistent with the other bikes coming out of the Carlton shop. The 531 fork decals are mostly intact, and the fork has a cool sloping crown. It still even had both wheel reflectors when I got it. The little white clips on the front reflector cracked when I tried to loosen it up to true the wheel. I think that I still have it around, and if you want it I’ll dig around and try to find it. You’d be hard pressed to find a bike of this vintage that is still this original. I’ve had this bike for a few years, but I’ve only ridden it maybe a dozen times. I considered parting this out—I could use the Jubilee derailleurs on another project—but a specimen like this really should stay intact. You could ride this at L’Eroica, or just ride and enjoy it closer to home.

Brings back many memories!
"good" people is an understatement, they have been in business since 1954.
The original owner, Spence Wolf was legendary and the shop has been a mecca for decades.
I made a pilgrimage there on my way home from Eroica, got the t-shirt, etc and showed off the Merz. Spence is long gone but he sold several Merz's back in the day as well as the most Cinelli's of any shop, many of which he turned into touring rigs with his alpine gearing and other fittings.

My cousin lived across the street from the original shop on Randy Lane in Cupertino. As youngsters we would often visit the and wonder what those strange bikes were all about. We had cruiser. When I later got serious about cycling, I understood the interest in that shop. My brother still lives in the area. So, I’ll have him get me one of those jerseys. What a great tribute to ones childhood!
Cheers,
Van

I bought it from the original owner last summer. I’ve ridden it probably 40 times, and fell in love with biking because of it. Recently bought a nicer bike, so I don’t need this one anymore
