1986 Raleigh Sport
I don't have pics handy, but I'll get some up soon. I have posted photos of this bike previously in another (NBD) thread.
It's a 1986 Raleigh Sport, and it's Asian manufactured. It's in great, ready to ride condition. Always stored indoors, no rust, barely a scratch. 21 inch frame, burgundy color. Shimano IGH, all original. It does ride great, but I have not repacked the bearings.
Ive had it up on Craigslist and Facebook Marketplace for over a month. Started at $150 OBO, now I'm at $100 OBO. No interest at all. Finally had a legit buyer tonight. He made an offer and wouldn't budge off it. $70 and he wanted me to meet him half-way (120 mile round trip for me).
I don't ride the bike, it just isn't as fun, fast, or comfortable as my road bikes. It's taking up indoor space that I don't really have a surplus of. I'm probably moving soon (cross country) and don't plan to take extra bikes with me.
I told the buyer $90 and I'd drive to meet him. He refused and thanked me for my time.
Should I have took what he offered, or lose the deal over $20, and be stuck with a bike I don't ride? I really don't intend to haul this bike across the country with me, I don't know anyone locally who would want it, and I'm not near any co-ops.
Am I way off on my price?

When I was a flipper I learned to not go and meet people unless I was the buyer. They will often offer you less and then you have made the trip for nothing.
I had a price and did not take offers. 95% of the bikes I sold were ones people wanted. I gave away some very nice bikes to sites that auction them for a charity. I also gave them to bike co-op
Why not give it to a friend. I just checked Charlotte CL and there were Raleigh road bikes for $40-110

Riverdrifter That is a great looking bike. Like I said I have had some like that and I would ride them once in awhile. When I moved to a apartment from my house I had to make some tough choices about bikes. I kept three one being a 1987 Team 7/11 bike. I seldom road the 7/11 bike so I gave it to a long time friend. I had agreed to never sell the bike when I got it and he agreed to never sell it.

I put this bike on consignment today at a friend's store. Seems like a good solution, and clears up more space at my house.

It can be tough selling bikes like this in a small market. That bike looks great. You would have sold it at your price in a larger urban area like Omaha or Lincoln but sales can be tough in smaller cities.
