Posting this only because I love the movie, Nights of Cabiria. Don't know if it's Fellini's best picture or not, but it's my favorite by far. Giulietta Masina is so so cute in that, and its ending is so touching and beautiful.

He appears to be on the verge of a nasty wipeout! That front tire is at it’s limits! By the look on his face, he has just realized that, too!

I don't believe that this photo of girl-next-door icon Dawn Wells (Mary Ann Summers on Gilligan's Island), has been previously posted in this thread. Since what she is riding is not technically a bicycle, I'll include two other 1960s girl-next-door types, Cynthia Lynn (Fräulein Helga on Hogan's Heroes) and Lori Saunders (Bobbie Jo Bradley on Petticoat Junction).

"Nothing compares to getting your heart rate up to 170-something, riding hard for an hour-twenty, getting off and not hurting, as opposed to 24 minutes of running, at the end of which I hurt. When you ride a bike, and you get your heart rate up, and you’re out, after 30 or 40 minutes, your mind tends to expand; it tends to relax."
President George W. Bush

There's a lot of consternation surrounding that claim.

Yep, seems like its mostly true but we'll probably never know for sure.

I was aware of the tale but we saw a one woman show, sort of stand up comedy based on it a few years back that was very entertaining and a lot of fun.

It spurred me to do a bit of a deep dive at the time.

I've read some of the 1890s news items on her trip. Reportedly, she booked steamship passage from Marseilles, France to Yokohama, Japan. Her celebrity got her a 50% deduction in the price of her ticket. Basically, she skipped most of Europe and Asia, with limited cycling at the stopover ports en route. The only place she appears to have performed any significant cycling was in the USA.
