Cyclocross and Gravelbiking (Recreational) This has to be the most physically intense sport ever invented. It's high speed bicycle racing on a short off road course or riding the off pavement rides on gravel like : "Unbound Gravel". We also have a dedicated Racing forum for the Cyclocross Hard Core Racers.

Thrashing out the issues they did, was still informative, it would be a pity to delete those posts.

so, I figured I better dust off the 'new' steed and get a pic taken... weather forecast calls for beautiful So/Central Ca weather for the coming weeks... (we REALLY need rain....)
and I'm gonna be ridin a lot, so the inevitable dust on this bike...
anyway, The Poseidon X with changes from 'stock' - ZIPP Speed Weaponry Service Course 70 XPLR, 44 cm attached via a Redshift Shockstop stem 110mm, Charge saddle sitting on top of a Rockshox seatpost from my seatpost collection. Crank Bros Acid pedals instead of 'flats" I've been using/trying. I'm ridin better with the Acids...
Conti Speed Ride 700x42 on the front. Kept the Kenda Small Block 700x35 on the rear (nice tire).

Poseidon X - a bunch of dirty fun !
Did a 2hr ride after takin the pic; and very happy with all the changes.
Think I'm gonna be doing a lot more gravel/mtb time than I was planning... Variety, the spice of Life !
Ride on
Yuri

Shakedown ride. Cannondale Topstone 1. Nothing fell off, was able to adjust the seat properly. Need more time in the saddle to let me seat bones get used to it.

Added a new coat of paint to my Giant TCX. Rolls great with Challenge Gravel Grinder 700x42's.

Soma fam. Finally got a wash and installed new tires. Easiest tubeless set up yet on my hoops. No tricks needed - just mounted and pumped up with a floor pump.

Better cash in my steel gravel bike chips while they are hot...the only thing better than one, is two! Haven't decided whether to go with an old style silver quill stem on the Schwinn, or just use a -17 on the threadless adapter.

Option 3- innicycle headset. It was created and is made by a forum member and is some really slick tech. It elegantly bridges the threaded to threadless setup. High quality headset and it gives you a secure platform for a threadless stem.
Not cheap, but they hold value if you end up wanting to part with it.
Comes in silver and black.

I might consider one of those, looks like it solves the look problem of a threadless adapter sticking up with no spacers.

The Crosspoint was the fourth 90's steel bike I have converted, and I tried to keep the cost down, while keeping as many original parts as possible outside of the drop conversion.

My new Giant Revolt (with some mods and upgrades) So far it has exceeded my expectations! Fast, comfortable, handles great. It feels a lot like an endurance bike with room for wider tires, which is exactly what I wanted!
