Campy Athena 11 group specialist support needed
Currently riding with a Campy Athena11 group , 11x27 cassette and 53x39 crankset but this is currently too heavy for the type of my current ride. Can I change the cassette for a Campy Chorus 12x29 and also reduce the front chainring? if yes, do I need any other adjustment? Any other tips or recommendation? thank you

I assume you mean you want to change the gearing. One firm restriction is that you have to use Campagnolo 11 speed-compatible components, or non-Campy parts that are compatible with Campy. For example, you need a Campagnolo 11 cassette, or you need a different cassette which is 11 speed. I haven't tried this on my wife's 11 speed Campy triple. We got everything working great on her full-Campy setup.

I've only tried the all-Campy option. At some point I read that there are problems, but I still haven't tried the other brands on this bike. That's why I suggested caution.

Okay, I just wanted some clarification. I had read that the cassette spacing was the same between brands and the campy and shimano. I haven't tried it yet on my bikes but I do have a bike that is Campy 11, Shimano 11 and SRAM 11 speed.

I suppose if you are more discriminating than the average rider you might pick up shifting differences although I can not. I can say the Sram cassette might not be as smooth as I believe I hear more noise from it than a Shimano cassette on a set of Reynolds wheels with Shimano freehub but still can not feel any difference.
