70s Frejus restoration and build.
Hey guys.

Nice find. I will try your magic eraser tip on my old steeds.
No doubt, you know that those Reynolds decals are available online.
In the early-70's, Phil Wood began making high-quality sealed bearing hubs and bottom brackets.
As a kid, we toured one of his first shops in the San Jose area. Really cool operation.
Interested to see how your Fray Hoos progresses!

For whatever reason Frejus has always been a favorite brand of mine. I don't really have a grail bike list, but if I did, a Frejus might be at the top. I am so glad that these worthy bikes are being shown the love and appreciation they deserve.

Very cool. Frejus fan too. Remember very well in 1971-72 my friends and I rode our ten speeds to the local annual Tour of Lake Ellyn in Glen Ellyn, not too far from you John. The bike de jour was Frejus. Metallic greys and champagne colors withe the maroon contrasting panels Most probably purchased at Turin, Rainbow Jersey, Yellow Jersey bike shops, as the race drew local riders from Chicago, Milwaukee, and Madison. Quite a sight and still sticks in my memory.

Beautiful. Same era as the ones my uncle sold to supplement the inadequate supply of top-tier Raleighs. Those are some gorgeous bicycles. Eventually hope to get one in my size.

I regret not only parting with the only Frejus I owned, but literally parting it out after it wouldn't sell for a time... I believe it was one of the fastest and most responsive steel frames I've ever ridden on and it was not one of the top models in the lineup, either. Enjoy your build!
