Personal tracking threads

When it was only one person setting up their own "My Daily Rides" thread, it wasn't such a big deal.

But now that there are at least three such personal threads, in at least two fora, it's getting annoying. Is there some way to set up a "Your rides go here" forum to localize these?

(And what's wrong with a spreadsheet, notebook, or calendar; or one of the sites that exists to show off, I mean log, a person's rides?)

Because narcissism. That's the underlying foundation of this "sport/hobby".

Some of them annoy me, too, but I just ignore most of them. In Clydesdales and Athenas you'll find a number of them, but in context to that forum and its purpose they do a lot of good. I started one thread called "I Joined Weight Watchers" in January 2012 that lasted a long time, and the conversation/encouragement I received there ended up in me losing 78 pounds. So they have their place - I guess if they annoy you, you don't need to read 'em -

Who'da thunk of such a thing? A thread just for ME!
If I started one of those things, would I still be allowed to post in the 50+ Did You Ride Today?
I'd call mine: Did I ride today?

The one of yours served a greater purpose than an individual for some reason thinking that they have a right to a private thread in a public forum as is the case currently happening in the commuting forum. If a person can start a thread, they can start an Excel file and that's where their private figures belong.....on their private computer. I personally don't care how far they ride.

How far does the if it annoys you don't read it go. When 35 people have their private threads does this mean that I will have to scroll through three pages of private crap to find the current public threads. This is especially troublesome noting that there already is a mileage thread that close to a hundred individuals see fit to use. What makes this one new poster so damn special that he gets a private spot??

THE WORST PART OF IT IS THAT THIS POSTER HAS NOT EVEN SEEN FIT TO CONTRIBUTE THE WHOPPING NICKEL A DAY THAT IT TAKES TO BECOME A SUPPORTING, CARING MEMBER OF THIS COMMUNITY. THAT, AT THE VERY LEAST, SHOULD BE A MINIMUM REQUIREMENT TO HAVE A PRIVATE THREAD.

WHAT THE HELL IS MY YELLOW JERSEY----A SNOT RAG?

Not an issue for me at all. I just skip over those threads. I wasn't even aware they existed.

What's the problem?

Like I said, I wasn't even aware such threads existed so I'm thinking there must not be 35 of them. I feel like you're blowing up a penny balloon and then complaining about how much space it takes up.

I've only noticed one, so far. Thought it was curious that someone would do that.
