New folding bike build

I decided that building a new folding bike is my next project. So, I ordered an apple green Fnhon Blast aluminium frame. Is the colour ugly? Hopefully it will turn away thieves and make it high viz in traffic. I ve also ordered a new crank with hollow BB and rear rack. I have a 7 speed short cage shimano 105 derailleur that I’ill install. The rest of the parts will come from my old Dahon speed such as fenders, handles bars and post, brakes etc. some of these are new. Maybe the grip shifter needs replacements. The wheels will be original and I ll see later if they need to be replaced. Pictures of the project will be posted as I go along. What do you think? Suggestions? Thanks

I added a picture of what it would almost look like ( not my picture)

very fresh color~
well, I would suggest you to upgrade your 7 speed system to 10 speed.
Since the RD remains, so what you need are a 10s shifter (Shimano R460/ R770/ R780), a new chain and cassette.

The bicycle frame arrived within two weeks. That was faster than I expected. China to MONTREAL. Packaging was very good. It protected the frame. I wonder if there’s a link between the Silverock box and Fnhon? The colour is a pearl yellow green. I like it.

Another update.

Cables installed, the derailleur needs adjustments which is a challenge. I ll maybe take it to the LBS. Summer tires next.

Final update

The bike is finished. Short cage Shimano 105 seven speed is working well. I added a light weight rack which brings the total weight to 25-26 lbs. The old wheels as well as the new Schwalbe Marathon plus tires certainly contribute to that weight. Last thing is to buy a front reflector and register the bike in Garage 529. Now lets ride.

Update: I replaced the v brakes from Pro max to Shimano t4000 as well as using Cool stop salmon pads. I ordered new wheels (Novatec hubs) with freehub so I can use a cassette. The original wheels came from an old Dahon Speed.

The new wheels accept 7 to 10 speed cassettes (spacer needed for 7 speed). To avoid using a spacer, I’ll install a 8 Speed cassette, look for a Shimano 105 short cage RD, change the grip shifter also to 8 speed.

The color is fine.

I am glad people are taking advantage of these frames. I remember that when I began to talk about them in 2018 here, people were quite doubtful about them. I just got myself a Storm and Gust 16" frameset, both for under $200.
