I got a second bike for myself.
It's to go on the boards, which is something I've always had a hankering to do.
Cecil Walker was 8 times US all-round track champion and, in 1930, both all-round and sprint champion. But he came back to Oz and started a bike shop that is still going. As it turns out, this frame was made by the same guy and in the same year as my Hillman roadie: George McDonald in 1976. He supplied frames to several shops in Melbourne in that era.
The paint was done by Kevin Wigham, who also formerly made frames, and the lining by Kenn Dickie, the doyen of Aussie pinstripers. (You may say that some of the lines aren't as sharp as they might be. But I'd respond that he's 83 years old and I'm darned lucky to have any of his work at all.)
I'm lucky to have it.

By the way, I perused this entire thread, which took quite a while. There are a ton of nice rides here.

I know in my own experience as a canoe owner that I'll never be a candidate for a tandem. I always paddled, while the 2nd seat hardly did so. So I know with a tandem I'd always pedal, while the 2nd seat would hardly do so. You ought to see my wife's Schwinn Jaguar 7 that was bought with mine back in 2007 or 2008. It must have an entire 20 miles on it.

Traded my Defy for this Domane SL6 last week. I wanted something the would fit a fatter tire than the Defy to help smooth out some of the very rough chip seal I tend to ride on.

1982 Trek 720
It was a cool and overcast day today in Des Moines. I did a 33 mile ride on the local trails and took my 1982 Trek 720 as I wanted a bike with fenders today. The 720 was Trek's top end touring bike in the early 80s (and later became the 520 which is still in production).
