Well they definitely work!
I got NEW Fulcrum Racing 5s to replace the OLD Fulcrum Racing 5s, for cheap from PBK. The new ones have wider rims (17 vs 15), so when I wear out the 25mm Grand Prix's I swapped off the old rims, I'mma get some 28s. I had to adjust the front brake cable to fit the wider rims. I also got a new cassette. I put on the rear wheel and was fiddling with the barrel adjuster on the rear derailleur, and discovered that the dang thing was broken!!! Luckily, I had the Centaur rear derailleur I replaced with a Veloce medium cage on the Battaglin, so I swapped THAT in. Then the drivetrain sounded a little noisy, so despite the chain not being THAT old, I put a new chain on.
So, first observation is that, between 2006 and 2020, Fulcrum replaced the "Swarm Of Angry Bees" freewheel with something damn near SILENT!!! No more rolling up on slower riders and announcing my presence with the ridiculously loud buzzing of my freewheel! Mrs. GeneJockey suggested I get a bell....
I was planning a quick 16 miles but ended up going more like 26, because the smoke had blown out and I had the legs for it - or at least I had the legs to get to the turnaround point!

So, I'm riding home from work in a closed lane of a 2-lane road that has "No vehicles" signs sprouting out of it. I see a buddy of mine coming the other way on the opposite side of the road. I turn around and yell at him and smack into a sign at about 12 mph. Oh my ******g God that hurt. I didn't go down, but I have bruises on my right shoulder, thigh, and hand. I don't think they're running the TT tomorrow, but I'm not sure I could do it. Jeez, I'm an idiot.
But inquiring minds want to know - Did it make a comical *FWANGGG!!!!* sound?

So if you hit a sign on a MUP what’s the protocol? Do you exchange numbers? Do you get insurance involved? Can the sign ever be at fault? I think I’ll start a thread. Someone needs to get to the bottom of this.

Since I retired I think about getting an old car and working on it. There is a 1954 Chevy sitting in a driveway a few blocks from home and I have wondered about it for years. A couple weeks back they put a For Sale sign on it. Crap. Time to put up or shut up. I should buy a bike instead.

Be careful, and go to the doctor, that's the kind of random spike I would see with my v tach. Before I found out I was assuming it was my heart rate monitor screwing up, I called it the random number generator. Heart rate monitors are very good at counting beats, and ventricular tachycardia is no joke, it can kill you. Sorry to be a wet blanket, but this may be serious.

That’s too high a resting heart rate. Verify with manual pulse and if real, you should get it checked at your doctor’s office. Not enough data to give a diagnosis.
edit: I misread graph. If that’s just during a ride the average HR is not a concern. The spike is probably not true/real but you still may want to get a real cardiac event monitor from your doctor to be sure.

Round 2 of getting the car inspected. New mirror and lights replaced. The fog light in this subaru was a PITA. Got here 2 hours before opening and there were already 2 cars enfront of me. It will be interesting to see how long this takes.
