Not sure what bicycle you have with a petrol motor, but I do recall such things existing at one point in time.

… or perhaps you took a wrong turn in Albuquerque and thought this was a motorcycle forum?

either way… the tank overflow tube is a safety device, and bad things tend to happen when you disable safety devices.

Sometimes spectacularly.

I’d suggest you figure out why the overflow is occurring, then fix the actual problem that is causing it to occur.

Posting this in 3 different forums isn't going to go over well, either.

Actually try posting on one of the motorized bicycle forums. A couple of days ago I saw one of those noisy 2 stroke gas jobs in the Walmart parking lot.

No, this also serves as a vent tube in most tanks and will stop the flow of fuel from air lock as the fuel level goes down. You can get one way valves that fit inline between the overflow tube and the tank. Prevents overflow but allows air in. Something like this just as an example from a motorcycle site. May or may not be the correct diameter tubing for your use so you'll have to do a little research. Apico Breather Pipe Long With One Way Valve Fuel Vent Tubes from Dirtbikebitz

Not sure what is meant by carburetor/tank overflow tube. On a carbureted motorcycle I would suspect a bad float or adjustment that doesn't shut off the flow from the tank when the float bowl is full. Consequently, it overflows.

I can't believe anyone has replied seriously to this, nor can I believe that a mod hasn't closed it yet.

We don't read every thread. Why haven't you reported it? WTF indeed.
