Not sure what bicycle you have with a petrol motor, but I do recall such things existing at one point in time.
… or perhaps you took a wrong turn in Albuquerque and thought this was a motorcycle forum?
either way… the tank overflow tube is a safety device, and bad things tend to happen when you disable safety devices.
Sometimes spectacularly.
I’d suggest you figure out why the overflow is occurring, then fix the actual problem that is causing it to occur.

Actually try posting on one of the motorized bicycle forums. A couple of days ago I saw one of those noisy 2 stroke gas jobs in the Walmart parking lot.

Not sure what is meant by carburetor/tank overflow tube. On a carbureted motorcycle I would suspect a bad float or adjustment that doesn't shut off the flow from the tank when the float bowl is full. Consequently, it overflows.

I can't believe anyone has replied seriously to this, nor can I believe that a mod hasn't closed it yet.

We are a bicycle forum not a motorcycle forum.
