Gingko leaves've just started turn to beautiful yellow, wait for awhile, BTinNYC.

Gingko tree itself and leaves have lots of water.
Japan's Shinto shrines and Buddhism temples have planted ginkgo trees to prevent fires.
Some of them are as famous for ginkgo trees as buildings, paintings, and sculptures.

Gingko seeds?
Go to Japanese restaurant and ask details, it's the best way, BTinNYC.
In Japan, gin nan, ginkgo seed is sold all year long.
Japanese groceries in NYC may sell gin nan.

Japanese dish?
An ingredient of chawan mushi, steamed brothy custard.

New ginkgo seed is green inside and treated as a veggy by wholesalers and groceries.
But next year, inside turns to brown, treated as a dried food.

The taste of green and brown is same, both are tasty.
It has a characteristic taste, I don't know if you'll like it or not, BTinNYC.
I haven't met Japanese who doesn't like that characteristic taste.

WARNING again.
Gingko flesh covering tasty seed is very stinking.

A nice 35 miler in 55 degree temperatures and mild winds. I met my wife at about 25 miles to watch the local Christmas Parade before heading home. We hadn’t been in years……and since we’re moving away in a couple weeks we thought it might be nice to go one last time. I got to the parade route just before it started and rode the whole route, hundreds of people were lining the route and cheered me as I rode by. They also had a 5k race before the parade and my daughter won it years ago when she was in college However she couldn’t accept the winning cash as she was running for her college team.

I could feel the cycling legs coming back after not riding much concentrating on the upcoming move.

No photos cause at 3:33AM today it was dark with 16.2mph winds, some rain and cold at 62℉ for the 11.11 miles ridden. p.s. - that's almost freezing for this 72yo now transplanted 35 years ago from NJ to SW FL and glad I'm not out now 'cause it's down to 59℉.

Using my cold weather wear I cycled 43 miles in about the same temp.
The wind chill was for sure around freezing but actually not too bad once my face got use to it.
Even with wool socks my feet got cold and stayed cold for the ride, atleast did not loose feel like often happens when skiing. Was nice to ride on some new Conti GP 5000s on my Pinarello and not have too many other road competitors.

But beautiful ginkgo tree.
This one is young and small.
They live long, 1000 years! and grow big, 20m or 70ft!
Its pit is a tasty nut.
Roast, crack, eat, and enjoy with beer
I like it
Ginkgo is a gymnosperm and dioecism.
Only female trees bear fruits.
The fruits, hmmm, stink, ugh

Beautiful pix with that classic Colnago Mapei
They are fantastic rides!
Ginkgo and beer sounds like a great after ride reward.

Beautiful weather in northeast Oklahoma for this late in November. And I took advantage of it to pedal off some of yesterday’s calories on my Takara. A bike boom bike from an Oklahoma City company and a ubiquitous piece of oil equipment in Oklahoma.

We had a Cold front come through on Sunday, but luck only gave us a dusting of snow which went away quickly so we got in a ride before Tuesday, as a meaner cold front will bring 2-4 in. of snow on Tuesday morning. 20 miles total, with mostly cloudy skies till very late in the ride. We ate our brown bag lunch, "inside" at a Panera Bread with a cup of HOT Tea instead of glasses of iced tea!!

Weekend rec ride, as usual.

I wanted to show off beautiful ginkgo trees.
Looking for a big and tall and picturesque ginkgo tree, gush, none.
Along-the-road ginkgo trees.
They are trimmed every year to prevent to grow too big.
They grow over 10m or 350ft.
They dropped tons of leaves every autumn, disposing them takes a long time.
Bigger trees, more leaves, a longer time to dispose.

But they are beautiful, which is true.

Yokohama's autumn

Chestnut harvest is over.

Mikan, or mandarin orange
Japanese love them

A family grows their dessert in the garden.

Another family grows lemon.
They are still green, but get yellower every day.

Weather was good.
Fruits looked great.
smiley is lemon yellow, hahaha
It was a fun ride today, too.

A quick 25mile dash over the bridge to the headland... a bit colder than usual at 48ish... a week ago there was a talk about knee warmer, today was a good day to own a pair!

Last week; 152 miles and 6,800 feet. That amount climbing work is probably standard fare for most BFers, but a big deal for this flatlander.

Doubled my pleasure doing both a dirt gravel ride (Surly) and a road ride (TI LS) both in the winery areas of Temecula.
Stopped at horse ranch off dirt and motodoffo winery where I love seeing all the classic moto bikes like the Ducati's.

Weekend rec ride.

Today's Mt. Fuji
It rained early morning, it washed down the dust in the air.
The sky was clear.
But some clouds stayed there and hid the summit of Mt. Fuji.
Mmm, it isn't easy to see the whole of Mt. Fuji.

Today was a great day to train and test gear for next week's Tuscobia 80 mile (if they can get the trail cleared of downed trees) & Arrowhead 135 in 2024.

There was an attempt. Last year I rode this bike on Christmas Eve and broke a chain. This year I decided to not break a bone so I aborted the mission at the end of the street.
