Alfine 11 convert to ebike
Hi all,
Because of my commute, lately I realised an electric bike will help getting to work faster and sweat less. As I own a 3 years old Cube Editor (modified with customer seat and handlebar) with an assume alfine 11 transmission, I was thinking to modify it instead of buying a new bike.
Can anyone knows if this bike will be worth modifying and what what kit i can add to it?

I modified a somewhat similar bike (Trek FX) with a mid-drive motor. I think your bike would be perfect for such a conversion. Specifically I added a 48v Tong Sheng TSDZ2 with torque sensing crank. Here are some links:

It's worth doing some homework on this. Both the BBS02 and the Tongshen will work being mid-mount motors. The main difference between the two is that the Tongshen is a torque sensing motor, whereas the BBS02 is cadence-sensing, which gives a fairly big difference in behavior between the two.
EcoCycles in the USA sells the Tongshen and seems to have the ins and outs of customer installs worked out: https://cycles.eco/collections/tongsheng-tsdz2
Also do some research on the Endless Sphere forums, which will have a lot more ebike conversion info than here: https://endless-sphere.com/forums/
Lastly, both motors' software can be tweaked via additional or open source software and components. Casainho has a youtube channel devoted to the topic: https://www.youtube.com/user/casainho/videos

I’m probably too late with this reply as you have probably already done your conversion, but if not, I would think that the Cytronex C1 would be ideal for you. www.Cytronex.com. I have three, two on solo bikes and one on a tandem. Highly recommended. Easy to fit and great performance. UK company.
i am still reviewing a few options. One is duchid , a brand new company.
