I THINK this fd & lever will work

But would appreciate those more experienced opinion on it. Or a suggestion. if it won't. "06 LeMond Reno road bike 3 x 9 - Tiagra 4400 shift/brake lever- Bontrager Select crank-52 big ring. Think for the FD that a Microshift R 539 might work. It's braze on mount so would get an adapter, which is ok with me. Will this work-or other suggestions?--Edit--the orif fd was Tiagra 4403.

All Shimano and Microshift road 9-speed shift components are cross-compatible.

They also come in a clamp-on version if you prefer and yes, that will work with your 9sp triple Tiagra 4403, 52t. Just did the exact same replacement for my friends Tiagra Triple and works as good or better than the original Tiagra. microSHIFT R539 Front Derailleur 9-Speed Triple 52/42/30, 28.6/31.8 Band Clamp, Shimano Compatible | (benscycle.com)

Thanks! The way things change, wasn't sure the pull ratios were still the same. Knew the answer could be found on the site-good bunch here.

To follow up--the Microshift R 539 worked. Just put it on my wife's bike today (11/25). Found I had a der. on hand for my bike, which worked. I don't have to replace a FD that often and guess it slipped my mind what a pia it is getting a 3 spd. fd just right. Of course it's possible that I"m out of practice since it's so infrequent. Think I might know why 3 spd FDs have been replaced by 2, or none.

My understanding is that Shimano road double FDs changed actuation ratio at 11 speed along with the RDs (except for the Tiagra 4700 and GRX 10-speed "outliers", which also use the newer 11-speed actuation ratios). But Shimano doesn't seem to offer an 11-speed triple, and I understand they left the Tiagra 4703 pretty much alone with the "old" pull ratio. (Don't know for sure about newer Claris and Sora, but since they're 8 and 9 speed I'd guess they use the older actuation ratios.)

Shimano mountain FDs reportedly also use a different actuation ratio. Don't know the details.

Disclaimer: I've looked multiple times and have never been able to find hard data for any manufacturer's FD pull ratios (many sites list that info for RDs). The above could well be wrong.
