Quotes don't show

I wonder if I've messed up a setting somewhere. When I try to quote a post for my reply, the quote doesn't show up. I've worked around it a couple of times by selecting the original post and doing a , thinking it was a temporary glitch and might go away if I shut down the browser and/or restarted my computer (see, I'm a very adept IT guy!). But after several days, I still can't get a quote to show up.

Any ideas of what I might have done?

Thanks.

Thanks.

Testing just to ensure a self-quote works.

Are you selecting the quote button to start your reply? Or are you doing a Quick reply and checking the quote text box? Or perhaps doing something else?

Both ways work for me also.

Are you on a computer or cellphone?

I hit the quote button and it opens up this reply box - which I just did and again no quote. I've been using the forum for years with this browser, and this issue just started. Makes me wonder if there's a setting and I accidentally changed something.

OH HECK!! After I made the last post (quoted above!) it caught my eye that it was telling me something to the effect that I had selected 5 for multi quote and did I want to include them. I told it no and then tried my post again, voila, the quote works. I'd never noticed that feature before - that it "stores" multi quotes and asks you if you want to use them. I guess the lesson is that if you multiquote but don't actually use them, it might mess up the quote feature. I guess I'm embarrassed that after so many years and so many posts, I did not know this!

Thanks for trying to help me!

Seems to work for me

Edit: Posted before I read to the bottom of the thread. Glad you figured it out.
