New Cassette. New Chain, Too?
I am currently running a Shimano 105 (5700) drivetrain on my road bike. I am planning on replacing my 12-27 cassette with an 11-28 cassette. My question is, with the new cassette I'll have a slightly larger (1 tooth) large cog, so do you think I'll need to replace my chain? I would assume the existing chain would be slightly too short. Is this a correct assumption, or do you think my rear derailleur would be forgiving enough (I'm using an Ultegra 6700 RD)?
I should add that the existing cassette, chainrings, and chain are fairly new and show no signs of wear or stretching, and the whole thing shifts great.
Any input would be welcome.

Buy a new chain, since you'll need it eventually any way.
Then try your existing chain in the new big-big, carefully on the workstand, to determine if it will work.

I threw the new cassette on and my existing chain seems to be long enough. I ran it through all the gears, on both chainrings, and everything looked fine.
The only tweak required was a slight turn of the barrel adjuster on the rear derailleur.
