Carradice Bagman Expedition and some other small bits. The seatpost collar is something I might want to use later this year if I take this bike on a tour. The big 23L Carradice Super-C saddlebag can probably use the extra support and the room behind the saddle is prime real estate for bulky items like a tent or sleeping bag.

Well, it wasn’t quite in the post. But I rode to the LBS on Friday to pick up some brake pads. I was talking to the mechanic about a Flamme Ergal front. wheel I picked up in the morning. I told him I was looking for a Fiamme Red wheel to build up for the rear. Low and behold I picked up 2 (1 NOS) plus some conti sprinter tubulars that were his. So I ended up riding home with a tubular figure-eighted to hold the rims and other tubular against me. Ended up building both of them up.

Oooohh, aahhh, new Silca Impero Ultimate, did you find a good deal or just bite the bullet? They are not as expensive as they seem with 25yr./2yr. Silcashield warranty.Can you tell me what size you got and how long is the TT and/or HT to ST measurement?

This is a size 66 frame and the top tube (A) is 580mm center to center according to the spec sheet of the frame with oversized tubing. I just measured the inside and ended up with about 55cm which is a perfect size for an XL.

Agreed on all points and several of my bikes have a built in hanger style peg so they have an oldschool Silca that are paint to match, I'm to the point now that I don't think most any C+V bike looks right without one, I have several and they all work plenty well enough to get me home, so most of my bikes have one.
The rattling thing is why I ask about the size, they say to size up if you can and I agree, I don't ride hard enough for one to come loose so far but it could happen with one that isn't tight. That's the one big drawback with these, they are heavy, really heavy, 10+ oz/289g but they are nice so....

Odds and ends have trickled in. Last week a full boxset of 120 wheels manufacturing chainring spacers, that was dirt cheap, but apparently spent some time in a paint can shaker, so all the litte parts are fully randomized in all the little compartments, just like the rest of my shop.
Some times the luck of the draw and internet deals will take care of unresolved questions. I have a nice red bike that came with yellow handle bar tape and cable housings. Ive been resisting rebuilding with yellow consuables, but Amazon warehouse determined that I needed a set of yellow fenders for $11. They supposedly had some damage, but all I found where some assumed beard hairs stuck on the virgin plastic. Dont tell has left the station, but I'm good with dont ask......and the die is set. Yellow tape and housing are on order. I just need to find the right water bottles....

I like how it looks, classic and reminscent of Campagnolo Record and other cranks of that era. But the way it surprised me is that it feels stiffer than other cranks. How do I discern this? I don't know, and I have thought that I'm not strong enough to discern a stiff crank from a flexible one, but I think I do here. Also, it shifts quickly and more easily than other cranksets, thanks to the machining of the teeth and the pins and ramps. It makes my drivetrain quiet. So enjoy yours. You're lucky you got the 165mm arms. I'd be pleased with those. I have 170mm arms which I also like, but shorter arms are better for me. I can't ride 175mm arms, oddly enough.

My haul over the past several days...
Thanks to smontanaro and Frogbutter Christmas came early...Some cool stuff. Skip’s is on top and Cory’s on the lower level...
