Pogacar almost do it again

Today, in the world champion route in Imola, he attacked when it was one and a half lap to go. I thought he could finish first because he was looking so comfortable in the attacking. Shame he couldnt in the last lap

I was quite sure he could not do make a move again, Put out real energy on that attempt. Plus, after the Tour, he was a marked man. He had one shot, I think van Aert was the only rider there that could have maybe gone more than once but everybody's eyes were on him. Alaphilippe probably owes him a favor. With WvA in the picture, nobody was going to go after him and drag WaA along.

No, he didn't. Not even close; timed his move wrongly and faded. He is a great rider, but not on this day.

"Pogacar almost do it again"

Reminds me of Team Europcar, and no he didn't nearly win. Not even close.

Likely he was attacking on behalf of Roglic, to draw out the main contenders and allow Roglic to sit on.

Yeah. Pogacar is a good and honorable kid who learned a lesson. To my viewing, it didn't look like Roglic was on a good day when Pogacar launched. If that was the case, Roglic should have told him. Pogacar calculated correctly that he was damaging WVA's chances, but I bet he's wondering what might have been if he did that on the final lap.

Pogacar did try to help his countrymen Roglic.

But, apparently, nobody counted on Alaphilippe's extraordinay reservoir of anaerobic on the final attack. That was something to watch.

WVA played it way too safe. He should have taken on the duty of chasing down Alaphilippe when there were 10+ km to go with Ala having a scant 9" lead. But instead, WVA played coy and didn't show in good faith of organizing the chasers, so the chasers weren't gonna just tow along with him! Alaphilippe's lead grew from 9" to 13" to 24" as the kilometers ticked down, game over. WVA will learn from this. WVA is a marked man too. He needs to think like Fabian Cancellera, ie., take on the duty of organizing and chasing, and hope that you have just enough juice to outsprint the other weaker guys in your chase group.. because otherwise, NOBODY is gonna work with WVA.
