San Jose Woman Killed in Santa Clara Bicycle Accident on Hale Avenue near Blossom Court


Santa Clara, California (June 23, 2021) – A 51-year-old San Jose woman was killed in a bicycle accident near Coyote in Santa Clara County on Saturday morning.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at about 7:40 a.m. June 19, on Hale Avenue near Blossom Court.

The woman was riding a Schwinn bicycle on the road shoulder when she was struck by a southbound 2003 Honda driven by said a 26-year-old Morgan Hill man.

The woman was ejected from the bicycle and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office did not release the identity of the deceased pending the notification of her next-of-kin.

The driver of the car remained at the scene and cooperated with the police.

More information about the accident was not provided.

The CHP is investigating the cause of the accident.

I usually bike on Monterey street right next to this street. Monterey has some bike bike lanes.

Are there any updates? I assume she was rear-ended, but one should never assume.
