Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

We do all sorts of things on the spot for touring folks. Don't want a mechanical to ruin their tour.

Did a 55 mile club ride today and I wanted to avoid over doing it like I did last week. My heart rate kept going way high so I didn't chase...much. Still wasn't last going to the break @30 miles and a few dropees went back on their own.
At the break adding some miles and climbing was discussed and approved. Since I was now the slowest climber there and didn't want to blow up I opted to ride home solo. I felt better and saw a few other friends on the way back. Almost 100 here this afternoon and for the foreseeable future.

It depends. Front wheel, rim brake, correct spoke length in stock, probably 10 or 15 minutes. Ready to ride.

Is that a standard spoke? Or something more customized - dare I say, bespoke?

I used to carry spokes when touring, and even on club rides bitd. I used 7 speed Shimano with the screw-on small cog, so I carried a cassette cracker.
I was on a 9 day tour of Oregon with my ex wife and I broke a drive side spoke on the highway. I can still remember her reaction; "How long is this going to take?"

Bespoke spokes take longer. Obv.

Same here, we got quite a few at Performance Peoria since it was a half mile off of the Southern Tier route. The most fun was the guy on an LHT that destroyed his fork. We had to call around to all shops for a straight 1-1/8" fork with lowrider rack and canti bosses. Eventually an ex-employee found one in his pile of crap, but that guy was camped out at the shop for 5 hours or so by the time all was said and done. I spent about a half hour with ye olde Park frame and fork bender while the service manager was calling around but that thing was beyond hope, still have it in my garage for no reason in particular.

If it's a regular ol' person that just pulled their bike out of their SUV, then they went in the queue.

Don't see these everyday - 1970 fiat 850 siata spring.

That grille seems way too big for the rest of the car, funny thing is that it's just for show. This is a rear engine vehicle.
