WTB: triple crankset

Hi all,

I'm replacing the lower end, gray anodized Suntour XCE triple crankset on my Voyageur touring bike. I was thinking of asking about the Shimano XT Biopace triple crankset. If you have one to sell, great! If you have another suggested triple, also great. 50-44-28 or 48-38-26 tooth or thereabouts would be perfect (perhaps the latter for heavier-laden tours) as I am running a 13-28t Shimano HG50 cassette. JIS square taper.

This one or other as you suggest:
VeloBase.com - Component: Shimano FC-B124, Biopace Touring Triple

Thanks.

Thanks panzerwagon! I think I could have been clearer with my WTB ad that other suggested triples are welcome too.

Do you have a specific crank length in mind?

I was thinking of 170 or 175, since 170mm is what was on the bike, I have a 34" inseam, and 170mm or 175 seem like they would both work.

noglider thanks very much Tom. I'll take a look.

I have a sugino xd2, 170mm, 46/36/26 chainrings. Works well with 9 speed chain, I used it for touring with and 11-32 cassette. I sold the bike with its original components so this is just kicking around. Unfortunately my rides in Ottawa this year likely won't happen but shipping wouldn't be too bad I imagine.

I'm quite sure I have a 175 NOS Deore XT BioPace crankset. Not sure of the ring counts but I'm sure it's BioPace and NOS. It's been in storage for a long time so LMK if you're interested as it will take some digging to unearth.

Looks like you've got lots of good leads on cranks. Just thought I'd pipe in with a reminder that if you go from Suntour to Shimano you might be needing to swap your bb/spindle as well, since the taper dimensions won't be the same. Also, IIRC, though that's always open for debate, I think the lower-end Suntour cranks were Maxy taper, while the higher-end cranks were Mighty taper. Maxy/Mighty from the '70s Sugino crank names and spindle dimensions.
