Chorus Monoplaner Graphite

Didn't know these existed so I picked 'm up but they are too nice for me.
If it weren't for the (minimal) wear on the front pads I might have thought they were NOS.
No scratches, no oxidation, immaculate.

Can't find these on Greedbay so I have no idea what they may be worth.

Curious as to why you bought them in the first place? What were they going to go on? Or did you just pick them up because they seemed to be a good deal?

They are surely rare to find, especially in that condition and hopefully someone is looking for a pair and you can help them out.

P.S. edit: By the way, if that is a cat on the keyboard you need to show us the cat! Looks like a good match for the graphite brakes.

Do you happen to have the matching levers? This could make huge difference in value.

Well, I'm working on a Master Piu that needs brake shoes and pads for the silver Monoplaners that will go on it and I stumbled across these.
Thought they were interesting so I bought them, on closer inspection they turned out to be really nice but I'm not likely to use them and I really don't want to just take off the brake shoes and, you know, "break" something as nice as these.

Pablo Picatto is a real keyboard warrrior, here he's watching the bats hunting insects over the bushes.

With many brands, their dark/black anodized components are usually a bit lower in value than their silver/clear anodized versions, in the second hand market, but with Campagnolo, it seems to be usually the other way around as Campagnolo did not make that many of these "Graphite" finished ones.
I think a Campagnolo focused collector looking for graphite finished components might pay over 250 bucks for just those calipers (If it's very close to mint condition.). If you have the matching graphite finishedlevers for it, you can add another 150 bucks.

I know someone who loves Monoplanor brakes and would really love those, if these guys don’t give you a YUGE value estimate.

I think I can scrounge up a set of holders with white guides.

I also, surprisingly, still have some Campanutella V brakes too, just Incase you can use them

If you're talking about the Veloce mini Vs, I was going to ask about those next since I've a spare set of those after stripping my Concorde cross bike

Though to be honest they appear to me to be rebadged Tektros and not particularly valuable.

Interesting pair. Typical Chorus Monoplanar pad holders look more like this

I think it depends on the year and group. The original Chorus had square holders with white one the wheel guides. There also differences in the center bolt nuts and even the shape of the arm near where the blocks attach

Yeah, same mini-Vs as mine.
Pretty sure they're just rebadged Tektros.

Never struck me as particularly desirable though.

This is an original Chorus brake, with KoolStop pads but see how smooth the arm is as it moves toward the pad mounting area? Also two nuts on the center bolt

This is a later Athena and originally came with one piece shimano style pads, but she the sharp “shoulder” at the pad mounting area? Also note by this time, maybe ‘96?, the dropped the extra thin nut on the center bolt.

I used Velobase to identify them as Chorus VeloBase.com - Component: Campagnolo BR-02CH, Chorus Monoplaner

I find it easiest to just look at what it says on the box

I have to admit I feel kinda stupid now, having had these all along.....
Came across them looking for a couple of seat posts, spotted this decidedly non seat post shaped box in the back of my cupboard.
(complete with cable set and the little grommets and such, box is a little tatty though)
