Not very scientific but I do enjoy watching the GCN content.

These videos remind me of a day when I was riding our tandem with my son when he was about 13 or 14 years of age (late 1980s), and it was by far the quickest ride I've ever done on a tandem. Not to take anything from my wife, who happens to be the most incredible stoker that I've ever ridden with, but riding with my 75-pound son and with me at around 35 pounds less than I currently weigh, we just kicked out the jams on a tandem bicycle! At the time I would've put us up against nearly anyone! Unfortunately, my son didn't exactly care for taking on the role of being a stoker (can't say that I blame him), so it ended up being our only tandem ride together. Still, with coming from a fairly limited racing background, it truly was an amazing experience!

Another one. I'm not a GCN+ subscriber so haven't watched the lands end ride. Wonder if Cyfac provided it in exchange for the advertising.

A friend of mine has a Santana tandem. We took it out one night on a bike path. It was rather terrifying, how fast we could go. But it was a blast.
